Upon release, Take Off Your Pants and Jacket was met with commercial and critical success, reaching #1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
This album would also their last under MCA Records as the label dissolved in 2003. Recordings were contentious as the three members were constantly arguing over the band's musical direction, which were only made worse by pressure from MCA executives. The band recorded the album with Jerry Finn for over three months, spanning from January to March 2001. Take Off Your Pants and Jacket is the fourth studio album of Blink-182.
